Well this year, is different because I was lucky enough to be free (as in not working, duh~) on this event... Swell... So me and my buddy went for makan2 first... Can't have serious fun around the beach without a full tummy, right?
Actually we went makan2 at MRC Langkawi Fair first. Breakfast at 4pm, naturally. Met and chatted up with "a dear old friend". Bought some groceries and MARS BARS... Dono why, semenjak dua menjak ni, I can't live without them... Haih...
Anyway after the weekend shopping spree, we came back to find one of my newly acquired American Paddlefish got sucked by the pump and needless to say, a fish with bones that consists entirely of cartilage versus a powerful aquarium pump will not survive... So after my Alligator Gar did a brief funeral rites... That was a very expensive dinner for my Alligator Gar!
When we left, it was raining a wee bit. Being as "young and youthful" as I am now, hehehe... It took us some time to get there...
Had lunch/dinner (lunchner? Luner?) at Boom Boom Corner. The place was packed! Haih... Luckily the guy saw me and saved the last portion of Buttered Chicken for me... We had buttered Chicken with Roti Boom and mixed fruit juice.
Then we headed to the Pantai Chenang. Parked the car infront of Underwater World 'cause I'm pretty sure it was going to be packed a little further up the road... It was!
The moment we passed the inflatable arch into the event area... It started to rain cats and dogs and pick up trucks... Hehehe... Waterfest! YES! Luckily I was wearing my yellow raincoat/windbreaker (the best RM10 investment ever!).
Dont know how but we managed to get a good covered seating... Enjoyed the show immensenly... It was a refreshing change to be among the crowd.
We managed to catch Banu, Victor Lee, the three comedians, Noryn Aziz, Jamal Abdillah and Awie in action... Really love the umbrella and skirts bit by AA... Hahaha...
The show ended with a spectacular firework display...
We decided not to rush back together with the crowd but rush they did.
One minute the place was packed with visitors and after 3-4 minutes, there was no one there...
Took a dip before leaving... It's been year since I took a plunge. The seawater is salty! Hahaha...
Had to walk in the rain to get to the car. Had Teh Tarik and Laksa at 1am and then drove back to Kuah. Too excited to go straight home, we decided to continue makan2 le. Had nasi putih with ayam padpet... Fuh... Can really taste the spiciness of the dish, but of course it was a bit salty ler... I'm pretty sure it must be the saltwater... Hahaha...
Anyway... Looking forward to the next water festival or something like it...
Today, the Songkran Water Festival starts in Thailand...
Somebody is really feeling left out because somebody sneaked out to Thailand without telling...
Haih...
p/s: the Water Festival pixis not mine... It was taken by a "friend" who happened to be there during the first day of the event...
