IN A FLASH 13 MAY 2009

GOOD AFTERNOON AND SALAM MUHIBAH.
IT IS NOW TIME FOR IN A FLASH.

Kedah continue to shine in the Super League when they trounced Penang 2-1 in a match at the City Stadium last night.

Kedah, coached by Mohd Azraai Khor Abdullah, opened scoring in the 20th minute through a strike from Mohd Khyril Muhayameen Zambri but the host equalised only one minute later through S. Thingaran.

Kedah who missed the chance of defending the FA Cup this season, continued to display attacking football and the effort bore fruit when Mohd Asrul Ahmad scored their second goal in the 75th minute.

That win pushed Kedah to third spot from fifth in the table standing, having collected 28 points. Perlis, in second spot, have 32 while Selangor are top of the table with 31.

Meanwhile, Kelantan's run in putting pressure on the competition hit a snag when they went down 1-2 to Johor FC at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

Kelantan, who was the host, scored first in the 23rd minute through Mohd Nizab Ayob but Azizan Baba equalised for the visitors in the 38th minute.

Thirteen minutes into the second half, the industrious Azizan scored again for Johor FC, winning seven matches out of 14 already played.

In another match at the Darul Aman Stadium in Alor Setar, Kuala Muda Naza defeated KL Plus 2-0, with both goals scored by Akmal Rizal Ahmad Rakhli in the 4th and 87th minute.

The sale of RON95 petrol at RM1.75 per litre will be implemented from Sept 1 as an alternative to RON97 whose price will be increased to two ringgit per litre.

Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said at the same time, RON97 would be made a premium product while RON92 would be removed from the market.

He also said that in view of its status as a premium product, the price of RON97 would not be controlled by the government unlike RON95 that would become a fixed-price product.

He told reporters after launching RON97 in Putrajaya yesterday that although the price of RON95 is quite high compared to RON92 which is being sold at RM1.70 per litre, it is of higher quality and in terms of performance, it is far better than RON92.

He said RON95 could be used for all vehicles including imported luxury cars.

He added all cars can use RON95 including the high-powered, branded and so on. If before this, cars of these types used RON97, now they can switch to cheaper RON95.

He said the higher RON97 price in the market should not make the people panic because RON95 offers about the same quality and performance.

He also said relevant government agencies supports the sale of RON95 adding that the government would continue providing subsidy on the sale of petrol at three sen per litre.
